GRET is pleased to present its annual report for 2023, a year during which the organisation and its 788 employees adapted to deal with multiple political, economic and social crises in many of the countries in which it works, where people’s living conditions are being affected. As GRET chairperson Henry de Cazotte put it: “capable of reviewing their modes of intervention, they faced up to this period with all their intellectual and strategic resources, and their robust network of partners”.
In this edition you can read about GRET’s main interventions and news: its participation in international events such as the UN conference on water; membership of new networks ; GRET’s accreditation as a training organisation, etc. And, as always, new projects, studies and publications.
In this annual report, through articles and interviews, you will also find the positions that underpin GRET’s actions: debates around governance of water, inclusion of gender dynamics and the fight against gender inequalities in its projects, etc. You can get a behind-the-scenes- look at GRET’s work, for example a focus on the different ways in which it works with the world of research.
It also presents the results of actions conducted over the long term, such as the work carried out for more than 25 years to develop the public health system in Cambodia, or the search for sustainable solutions to reduce malnutrition in the Sahel.
With a budget of 46 million euros, GRET conducted a total of 290 interventions in 29 countries, in collaboration with more than 130 operational partners and 110 financial partners.
Its capitalisation activities led to the publication of 28 new works. Its teams also co-organised or participated in 50 symposiums, conferences, workshops and seminars, and contributed to 32 academic courses.
