The GRET website gets a makeover!

Actualité

GRET is launching its new website to improve its sharing of development practices and knowledge. Streamlined and responsive, it was designed for consultation by a wide audience and in all countries where GRET works. Easier to navigate, it provides access to all our publications, makes it possible to follow our actions in the field, understand our positions and become involved alongside us.

A showcase for our values

GRET is an NGO working on multiple subject areas and is known for the diversity of its actions, methods of intervention and expertise. It employs more than 750 professionals of many different nationalities and cultures, all working towards the same objective: improve living conditions of the most vulnerable populations while preserving the planet.

This objective is based on three values that guide GRET’s actions in the thirty or so countries where it works:

  • Make societies and ecosystems more resilient to cope with climate, environmental, social and economic shocks.
  • Strive for dignity for all through greater social justice.
  • Encourage everyone to take action, think, invent and reinvent themselves, and become collectively organised to shape a fairer world.

These values underpin the unity and coherence of our NGO, and guide our commitment at all levels.

Simplified spaces

The interface of our new website was simplified and improved, making it possible to easily understand our organisation’s mandate, the way it operates, its operational orientations, projects and positions.

The second entry enables visitors to be involved alongside us, via partnerships, online donations, or by joining our international teams.

The third entry directs users to GRET’s “Publications”, a substantial part of our organisation’s activities.

Knowledge sharing, at the core of GRET’s DNA

Since it was founded, GRET has been producing and sharing knowledge, know-how, and methods that have been tried and tested in the field to improve development practices and influence public policies.

GRET has a catalogue of several hundred publications. It has its own publishing house and also publishes specialised works through other publishers. Capitalisations, practical guides, sharing of experience, debates and analyses on development practices: the dedicated space on our website provides free access to digital versions of almost all of these publications.

The new search engine developed for our website will enable easier browsing in this space, allowing you the possibility of sorting through content by publication, collection, country or subject area, and to access works produced by GRET or its partners.

Fundraising

In 2020, GRET decided to accept the generosity of private individuals. This is an important and necessary stage for our organisation, in order to diversify our resources and continue working with total autonomy for a fairer, more sustainable world.

On our new website, it is now possible to make a donation online to contribute to our mission. By financially supporting GRET, you can make a commitment with an independent, professional organisation, defend strong solidarity values in favour of the most vulnerable, foster innovation for inclusive local development, led by communities and local organisations.

It is possible to act together to reduce poverty and inequalities, and to help thousands of women and men to build more resilient societies!
