FINRUR
Strengthening the network of savings and credit cooperatives COOPEC - FINRUR
Field Project
Senegal

The FINRUR Senegal project aims to improve the economic situation of small agricultural cooperatives and rural households (members of the RESOPP cooperative union in Senegal), by strengthening the capacities of the COOPEC credit savings mutual, a financial instrument of RESOPP. This strengthening takes place along several lines, as much by expanding the offer of financial services as by the search for financial and organizational viability or even improving the governance of this Union of credit savings cooperatives.
The target audience and beneficiaries of the project are the six cooperatives, members of RESOPP, women’s groups, associations, but also more generally farmers, herders and small rural entrepreneurs in Senegal.
At the end of the project, the penetration rate of COOPEC-RESOPP among members of rural family farms will be higher, the bank access rate of peasant families will increase by 25% and peasant families will increase their food security by one level. .

As part of the FINRUR project, GRET provides the following services:

– Participation in the coordination of the project in the strategic and operational committees

– Support mission for the identification of promising sectors for the development of innovative financial products.
