GRET’s new baseline: “Let’s craft a fair and sustainable world”

Nouvelle signature du Gret

Press release, 25th of October 2024 – GRET, a major international solidarity actor, is proud to announce its new baseline. The latter reiterates the organisation’s core values of solidarity, cooperation and commitment, while highlighting the unique “action-research” approach it takes to provide better responses to current global challenges.

This new baseline expresses GRET’s determination to continue its work to improve the most vulnerable populations’ living conditions in 29 countries. Taking an innovative, pragmatic approach, GRET’s work consists of “crafting” solutions developed in close synergy with local communities, adjusting its actions gradually to ensure that they are relevant, effective, and replicable.

To address environmental, economic and social challenges, GRET places social justice at the core of its actions. With this in mind, the organisation works to combat inequalities and promote inclusive development. Because GRET is convinced that, for sustainable development, individuals and communities must become actors of change. This is why empowerment and resilience, as well as social justice, are the central pillars underpinning its interventions.

Evolving our identity is an important step to reiterate our values and the way we work” comments Henry de Cazotte, chairperson of GRET. “This new baseline expresses our resolve to continue progressing with humility and determination, collectively constructing solutions that are in line with local realities. We remain firmly committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and contributing to the 2030 Agenda.”
