On 10 October last, a conference on the subject of agroecology in Cambodia took place at the Alliance Française in Siem Reap. With 150 people in attendance, the five speakers, mostly from the associations sector, spoke about the agroecological initiatives being implemented in the country.
Sokharith Touch, project manager with GRET, presented the activities conducted by Écofarm, a cooperative founded by GRET that enables farmers to collectively sell their products to obtain optimum value from agroecology in their production practices. This cooperative also implemented a certification system guaranteeing the quality of Écofarm-labelled products for consumers when they are sold at a dedicated market.
