Two days of meetings for GRET’s teams in Myanmar

Actualité

The “ONE-GRET Team Building Workshop” took place on 4 and 5 May in Hpa-An, the capital of Karen State, in the south-east of Myanmar. It was a big first for the team in Myanmar, which now has a staff of 130 people, almost all of whom were present at the event.

These two days of meetings were aimed at getting to know each other, facilitating discussions and proposing collective training. Stands presenting the various projects led by GRET in Myanmar had been installed so that everyone could discover the diversity of activities undertaken by the NGO on various subject areas in the country’s various regions.  This event also provided an opportunity to discuss subjects such as ethics and respect of the code of conduct, harassment in the workplace, and the subject of social networks and their impact on the organisation.

GRET has been working in Myanmar since 1995, where it is currently conducting 17 projects in five areas of expertise: agricultural development; water, sanitation and waste management; health and nutrition; microfinance and vocational training; and natural resource management and energy. Since the start of July, it is now possible to keep up with GRET’s news in Myanmar via a dedicated Facebook page (in Burmese and English).
