As part of the APICI project, GRET is implementing an innovative integrated approach, combining agroecology, structuring of producer groups and peer-to-peer certification, to improve the availability of healthy vegetables in Cambodia. It supports local farmers in adopting agricultural practices that respect the environment, farmers’ health and consumers, such as reducing the use of chemical pesticides, sustainable soil fertility management and crop diversification. By structuring cooperatives like Ecofarm, the project supports the development of short supply chains, ensures fair prices for farmers and facilitates household access to healthy, affordable local vegetables. Finally, a participatory guarantee system ensures product quality and traceability for consumers. GRET presents the approach in this fact sheet.
