Cambodia

GRET has been present in Cambodia since 1988, working in several areas:

IMPROVING ACCESS TO LOCAL ESSENTIAL SERVICES

Since it first started working in Cambodia, GRET has been a key actor in the areas of water, sanitation and solid waste management. In collaboration with the government and private partners, GRET rolls out a wide range of solutions, from implementation in the field to technical assistance and contribution to national policies. Our work has benefitted inhabitants in some 530 municipalities across 21 provinces in Cambodia.

IMPROVING SMALL FARMERS’ LIVELIHOODS AND STRENGTHENING FOOD SYSTEMS

In Siem Reap, GRET supports small farmers to improve their livelihoods and increase their income thanks to sustainable agricultural practices such as agroecology, participative guarantee systems, nutrition and green waste management. Thanks to the production of certified healthy local products, GRET supports safe, sustainable food in Siem Reap province. To date, we have supported more than 1,800 small farmers.

EXTENDING SOCIAL HEALTH COVERAGE FOR ALL CITIZENS

GRET began working on access to community healthcare at the end of the 1990s. Since then, it has supported institutional strengthening of social security. Our long term partnership with the National Social Security Fund enables us to contribute to the consolidation of inclusive social protection providing access to healthcare, notably for workers in the informal economy and freelance workers.
