Links between emergency relief and development: GRET receives official ECHO accreditation

Actualité

In early July, GRET received official accreditation from ECHO, the European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office, for the 2021-2027 period.

This accreditation will enable GRET’s teams to build links between emergency relief and development in the territories the association knows well, where its indepth knowledge of the context and its strong local presence can provide real assistance to populations in emergency or distressing situations.

GRET has a humanitarian responsibility vis-à-vis the people it already works among in its development projects. This means it must take action when lives are in danger, as for example in the south of Madagascar, where GRET has been mobilised since the beginning of the crisis to provide water and food to inhabitants affected by extreme drought.
