GRET is strengthening its partnership with the Government of the Principality of Monaco

Actualité

On 12 July last, the Government of the Principality of Monaco and GRET signed a memorandum of agreement strengthening the operational cooperation between the two partners, which had been established in 2010 with a view to improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations and fighting poverty, particularly in Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Mauritania, Niger and Senegal.

This agreement confirms the partners’ commitment to populations in Africa and Madagascar, to ensure access for all to basic services and strengthen their resilience to deal with climate, environmental, social and economic shocks.

Guided by common values of support for local approaches, GRET and Monegasque cooperation for development defined priority areas in which they work jointly:

  • maternal and child health;
  • universal healthcare coverage;
  • the fight against malnutrition (food fortification, feeding practices);
  • development of sustainable local agricultural value chains;
  • employment for women and young people in rural areas.

GRET is happy to have the support of the Government of the Principality of Monaco and wishes to thank it for its confirmed confidence, and for its loyal commitment to the most vulnerable.
